Job Objective

The Driver Operator’s primary responsibility is to report to the Captain and safely operate fire and rescue vehicles during emergency responses. This role also involves proficiency in handling various mechanical equipment, maintaining inventory, servicing apparatus, and ensuring operational readiness. Additionally, reporting equipment issues and adhering to established procedures are vital aspects of this position.

Job Duties

1. Collaborate with the Captain to enhance the operational and administrative efficiency of the fire and rescue service at the station.
2. Demonstrate expertise in operating pumps, aerial devices, power tools, and other necessary mechanical equipment.
3. Possess an in-depth understanding of the mechanical principles involved in operating fire and rescue apparatus and associated equipment.
4. Display comprehensive knowledge of fire service hydraulics and water distribution systems.
5. Maintain an accurate inventory of tools and equipment on the fire vehicles.
6. Promptly report any mechanical failures, difficulties, and missing or damaged equipment to the appropriate authority.
7. Take responsibility for updating and managing all records related to job duties.
8. Ensure the cleanliness and proper servicing of assigned apparatus, keeping them in a state of readiness.
9. Attend required training courses to stay current with firefighting practices.
10. Execute general firefighting tasks as assigned.
11. Adhere to RSFRS and RSG policies and procedures during all operations.
12. Exhibit flexibility in working at various locations as directed by RSFRS management.
13. Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience as Driver Operator

For Driver Operator, you should be at least 21years of age

• Minimum age requirement: 21 years old.

For Saudi Nationals

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Firefighter, with at least 2 years’ experience as a driver, preferably in a municipal setting.
• Possession of a Saudi Arabia Heavy Duty Driving License.
• NFPA or RSFRS Approved Equivalent certifications.
• Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications (NFPA 1001, 1006).
• First Aid certification.

For Ex-pats

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Firefighter, with at least 2 years’ experience as a driver, preferably in a municipal setting.
• Possession of a Saudi Arabia Heavy Duty Driving License.
• NFPA or RSFRS Approved Equivalent certifications.
• Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications (NFPA 1001, 1006).
• First Aid certification.
