Position Summary
Delivery Driver: As a valuable member of our team, your role involves delivering office supplies on your designated route to our Staples customer accounts while adhering to our internal schedules and quality standards. You’ll provide exceptional Delivery Driver service and handle product returns as necessary. While prior Mobile POD experience is advantageous, it’s not mandatory as we provide you our Delivery Driver with the delivery vehicle and all essential equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure your preloaded truck is prepared for deliveries
- Gather the required paperwork for deliveries
- Deliver products according to customer specifications, obtaining necessary signatures, and completing all required documentation
- Process customer returns, completing the necessary paperwork, and returning items to the warehouse
- Update the manifest with reason codes
- Address and resolve customer feedback as appropriate, promptly informing your supervisor of any outstanding issues
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of your vehicle
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues to your supervisor
- Adhere to safe work practices

You’ll frequently lift, move, and/or carry items weighing up to a maximum of 32 kilograms manually or use dolly-type equipment for deliveries. You’ll also drive a delivery truck regularly, requiring you to enter and exit the vehicle throughout the day. Additionally, you must be capable of entering and/or scanning product and customer information into a handheld scanner (electronic clipboard).
Work Environment
As Delivery Driver, You’ll regularly work in proximity to mechanical equipment and will drive throughout your assigned route in various weather and road conditions. The noise level in your work environment is typically moderate.
Basic Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 to 3 years in a Delivery Driver service-oriented role
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean Delivery Driver abstract with no major moving violations
- Ability to lift up to 32 kilograms and navigate using maps
- Proficiency with mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong teamwork and self-organizational skills
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Problem-solving abilities
- Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfort working in a warehouse environment in varying weather conditions
- Ability to drive safely in diverse weather and road conditions while adhering to tight schedules in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1-year experience in truck driving of a 16 ft. or longer straight truck
- Flexibility in working hours
- Experience with hand truck/dolly-type equipment
